Nearby (2 miles) is Hamilton Pool Preserve. A historic swimming hole in the Texas Hill Country. A special place. Access to the pool requires a 1/2 mile hike on a steep trail but is worth the effort. The preserve also has a short trail to the Pedernales River. $15 dollars per vehicle. See Hamilton Pool website for special info regarding traffic in the summer months and RESERVATIONS!!!
Also nearby (3 miles) is Reimers Ranch Park. This park offers world class rock climbing; 18 miles of mountain bike trails, and swimming and fishing in the Pedernales River.
Both of these parks are part of the Travis County park system. Standard day use fees apply, ($10/vehicle, valid for both on the same day).
